The 2025 tuition includes all retreat events, including the opening night party and Sunday farewell cookout, but not lodging or meals. Tuition, $275, is due at the time of enrollment.
A lodging package at the retreat site, Lost Lake Woods Club, is available separately. See instructions below. Only a limited number of lodge rooms are available.
You may choose one of two methods of payment: by check or online. In either case, begin by clicking on the Add to cart class enrollment below.
Paying online: You’ll be asked for your personal information and then payment information, where you can use almost any credit card, PayPal and more. Some payment options are on the first page; more are available by clicking on Proceed to Checkout. Finish the payment and you’ll get a thank-you email within minutes.
Paying by check: Begin as above. When you get to the payment page, click on Proceed to Checkout. One of the options is Check payments. Click that box and fill out the rest of the form, which will enroll you even before you mail a check. Then write the name of the class, your name and address, your phone and your email (if you have one) on a piece of paper, write a $275 check for tuition to Inspiration Alcona and pop the paper and the check in the mail to Inspiration Alcona, PO Box 506, Lincoln, MI 48742.
Soon after you’ve enrolled, you’ll get an email confirmation. (Or if you’ve signed up by mail, we’ll send the confirmation by U.S. mail if you have no email access.) A few weeks before the retreat, we’ll send a reminder to collect the materials you’ll need, as well as any updates needed.
Thanks for signing up. We look forward to seeing you in September.
If you have questions about the Alcona Arts Retreat, now or later, send an email to info@InspirationAlcona.org or call 989-736-3000.
If a workshop fills beyond its maximum, we’ll maintain a waiting list, but in the meantime we’ll return your payment. We’ll notify you immediately if a place in your chosen workshop opens.
Should we have to cancel the whole retreat, for any reason, we’ll make a full refund to you.
If you cancel more than two weeks before the retreat, we’ll send a full refund for tuition, less a $25 cancellation fee.
If you cancel for non-medical reasons less than two weeks before the retreat, we will send a 50-percent refund of tuition or apply your tuition payment to a future retreat, your choice. Because of the lodge’s rules, we cannot refund a lodging package you cancel less than two weeks before the event.
If you must cancel for reasons of illness backed by your physician, we’ll send a full refund for both tuition and lodging, less the $25 fee, regardless of the time you cancel.
The most convenient place to stay is at Lost Lake Woods Club Lodge, where all retreat events will be held. But there is no requirement to stay there; even if you do not stay at the lodge, you may buy meals there.
A lodging and meal package is available at the lodge. The package includes a private room at the lodge Thursday through Sunday, breakfast Friday through Sunday and lunches Friday and Saturday. The package price is $300. Call the club at 989-736-8197, say that you are part of the Alcona Arts Retreat. The receptionist will take your information and arrange a room for you. You won’t be charged until you check out after the retreat. You will need a credit card or check; the lodge has gone cashless.
Should you have food challenges that make it better for you to supply your own meals, a room-only package can be arranged. Call the club to set this up.
If you prefer to stay elsewhere, three bed-and-breakfast inns and a few small motels and cabin resorts are along or near the Lake Huron shore. All can be found on the internet by searching for hotels in Alcona County. About 100 Alcona County cabins and cottages are for rent at such websites as vrbo.com and airbnb.com.
The Lost Lake Woods Club restaurants, the Five Lakes Grill and the Lost Lure Lounge, will be open for all meals during the retreat, but dinner is not included in any package because we hope that participants will go out to see more of Alcona County while they are at the retreat. Restaurant recommendations are available, of course.
