Since 2022, Inspiration Alcona and Alcona Community Schools have partnered on a grant from the Michigan Department of Education to provide two hours of after-school enrichment for students, four days a week during the school year. During summer, we’ve offered four hours a day for six weeks.
Opportunities have ranged from tutoring in STEM subjects to gardening, outdoor survival, art lessons, board game clubs, forestry and many more.
Since 2013 Inspiration Alcona has also sponsored educational assemblies and classroom visitors, from Michigan history to magic shows, paleontology, reading programs and more.
The video below shows the June 2025 session of the Out-of-School-Time grant from the Michigan Department of Education.
